Main course: Phở

Phở is probably the most well-known Vietnamese dish to many foreigners as well as all over the world. But what is a real Pho?

I am sure some of you are wondering why there are so many articles written about this special noodle, so we won’t try to introduce the same information again. For us, a good bowl of Pho consists of soft and wide flat noodles, various meat parts (usually beef or chicken), clear and delicious broth (made of beef or chicken bones with secret spices according to each restaurant). Pho is accompanied by essential greens including basil, mint, cilantro, bean sprouts and onions to make the dish more flavorful.

There is an uncountable number of places selling Pho in Ha Noi and many of them have existed for a long time with different price ranges. If you are quite familiar with the traditional Vietnamese Pho, it’s good to try something new like Pho xao (stir-fried noodles with beef and vegetables) or Pho cuon (rolls of beef and vegetables in paper made from Pho noodles) with the same price.

Dessert: Kem Tràng Tiền

Ice cream has also been popular for many years and with a lot of people from all ages. Located at 35 Trang Tien street – Hoan Kiem district, this is a good place to beat the heat in Ha Noi during the summer.
